It’s Not Just a Numbers Game
Despite joking around with my co-workers, selling is all about customer satisfaction. Buyer’s remorse is a huge enemy of any salesman. If the customer regrets what you’ve sold her, it’s as good as not making the sale at all.
Reaffirming that she’s made a great decision to buy is all it takes. I point out that when I rent a car, I always buy the extra insurance, which is the truth. I have a high deductible, so paying a little extra makes sense.
Don’t lie or make outrageous claims. People like to do what other people do, but don’t say something you don’t actually believe. Get your customers on the bandwagon in an ethical way.
